Abstract

This article defines three different measures of central tendency: the mean, the median, and the mode. Each measure serves the same purpose, which is to describe the central tendency of data. We begin by defining what central tendency is, and then we explain how each measure of central tendency contributes to our understanding of a particular dataset.
