Abstract

Graduate training in clinical psychology is based on the science of psychology. To that end, all programs provide education in the broad and general foundational areas of psychology, which include the social, biological, cognitive, and affective aspects of behavior as well as human development. Specific training in the area of clinical psychology centers on diagnosing and defining problems through psychological assessment and measurement, implementing intervention strategies, providing consultation and supervision, and evaluating the efficacy of interventions.
