Abstract

Charles B. Ferster received the BS from Rutgers University, and the PhD in 1950 from Columbia, where he studied under such well-known behaviorists as Fred S. Keller and William N. Schoenfeld. He served as research scientist at Yerkes Laboratories in Orange Park, FL, at Harvard University, and at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He then became professor of psychology at Georgetown University and then at the American University in Washington, D.C., where he remained until his death in 1981.
