Moral development involves the process by which people internalize and orient their behavior according to socially sanctioned rules. Three conceptually distinguishable aspects of this developmental process have been highlighted: moral judgment (how one reasons about moral situations), moral behavior (how one acts), and moral emotions (what one feels).
