Abstract

Sensation seeking is a personality trait expressed in the generalized tendency to seek varied, novel, complex, and intense sensations and experiences and the willingness to take risks for the sake of such experiences (Zuckerman, 1979, 1994, 2007). Others have used different terms to describe what is essentially the same trait (e.g. novelty seeking, arousal seeking, thrill seeking, experience seeking, venturesomeness, excitement seeking, fun seeking).
