Lewis Madison Terman received a B.A. and M.A. (1903) from Indiana University and then enrolled at Clark University, from which he received his doctorate in 1905 under C. Stanford. In 1906, he held a position at Los Angeles State Normal School. From 1910 to 1943, he was at Stanford University; for 20 years, he served as head of the Psychology Department there.
