Lev S. Vygotsky graduated from Moscow State University with a law degree in 1917, and he finished his dissertation, The Psychology of Art, in 1925. Vygotsky set up a teaching lab at Gomel Teacher's College, where he continued his psychological research and gave lectures. In 1924 he gave a lecture on methods of reflexological and psychological investigations at the Second All-Russian Psychological Congress in Leningrad. Based on this lecture and their interactions, Luria and Kornilov offered him a position restructuring the Psychological Institute of Moscow, where he remained for the rest of his career.
