Power series distributions (PSDs) can be extended to the multivariate case. Factorial series distributions are the analogue of power series distributions, for a discrete parameter. Generalized hypergeometric (series) distributions are a subclass of power series distributions. This chapter discusses variate relationships including binomial variate, Poisson variate, negative binomial variate and logarithmic series variate, and presents the parameter estimation for PSDs.
