Abstract

Adkins catalysts are kinds of metal complexes prepared from chromium, copper, nickel, platinum, etc. These catalysts have been applied to various organic reactions like, hydrogenation of ester to alcohol, amide to amine, etc. Similarly also applied to dehydrogenations include dehydrogenation of alcohol, aromatic compounds, etc. This reaction encompasses greater utility in organic synthesis, especially on a large reaction scale.
