Jacob Hutter was born in about 1500 in the Puster Valley in Tyrol (then South Germany). His church reforming ideas had more in common with the radical reformers than with Martin Luther. He was one of the Anabaptists (rebaptizers in Latin), who rejected infant baptism, and so he and his followers had themselves rebaptized.
