Joachim of Fiore (or Flora), was born c.1132 in the small town of Celico, located in Cosenza within the Calabrian region of southern Italy, and died at San Giovanni in Fiore in 1202. He was a Cistercian abbot, apocalyptic theologian, and scriptural commentator, best known for his spiritual interpretation of history based on the Trinity.
