Abstract

Chuck Smith was born in 1927 to Charles and Maude Smith in Ventura, California. He is the pastor of Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa, California, and founder of the Calvary Chapel church movement. In 2007 some 1,400 churches are affiliated in the Calvary Chapel Outreach Fellowships (CCOF). Of these, 350 are outside the United States. Church affiliation requires adherence to the “Calvary Chapel Distinctives.”
