Francis Turretin was a Reformed minister, theologian, philosopher, and preacher, whose Institutes of Elenctic Theology is still read today as a careful, indeed exemplary, exposition of Reformed theology. Born into a prominent family of Italian descent on October 17, 1623, Turretin was educated in Geneva, the Low Countries, and France.
