No other church historian has described world Christianity with such insight and breadth. Born at New Milton, England in 1928 because only there had his father found work, the Scot Andrew Walls is a graduate of Oxford and Aberdeen universities. Beginning in 1952 he served as secretary and librarian of Tyndale House in Cambridge. There his ability to inspire and encourage church leaders emerged.
