Italian keyboard composer of the Baroque period. He served as an organist of the Ferrarese Accademia della Morte from 1597. In 1604 he moved to Rome where he became an organist in St. Peter's Cathedral in 1608. He remained in that position for the rest of his life except for a four-year interlude from 1628–1634 when he was in Florence.
