Abstract

In the last three decades the field of the traditionally more exotic selenium nitrogen and tellurium nitrogen compounds has developed considerably. This review presents some of the recent results with a focus on crystal structures. The application of nitrogen NMR spectroscopy will be illustrated as an additional useful tool for the characterization of SeN and TeN materials. This chapter includes newer results on binary, ternary, organoselenium and organotellurium amides, imides, azides and other classes of compounds divided into the different oxidation states of selenium and tellurium. Furthermore, the latest selenium and tellurium nitrogen-containing carbocycles will be mentioned.
