Abstract

The stationary fuel cell system components, function and various design options with respect to application, grid connection, nominal power output, load following, choice of fuel, installation and cogeneration capabilities are discussed. Fuel processor, fuel cell stack design and operation requirements are treated only to an extent they that affect the system design and operation. Efficiency and economics of stationary fuel cell systems are also addressed.
