An update on the most relevant issues on adhesion in composites is reviewed. Two aspects are considered: adhesion between the matrix and the reinforcing phase in composites and adhesion between composites to be joined to themselves or to other materials.

Polymer-, ceramic-, metal-, glass-, and glass-ceramic-matrix composites are considered.
