Summary

Chapter 5 first discusses propagation mechanisms and fading phenomena. Passing through a wireless channel, communication signals suffer from path loss, shadowing effect, and signal dispersion in time, frequency, and spatial domains. Front-end electronic non-idealities are also illustrated.
