The home eNB (HeNB) is a low-power base station to provide mobile devices with connections to a mobile operator’s network via residential broadband IP connections. The terms relevant to HeNBs are home Node B (HNB), home eNode B (HeNB), H(e)NB, closed subscriber group (CSG) and CSG cell. The CSG cell broadcasts CSG identification information so that a UE can identify whether the cell is a CSG cell. The CSG identification information is also used by the UE to verify whether the CSG cell is accessible. Mobility to the CSG cell should start with the identification of the CSG cell in the vicinity of the UE. The identification process can be driven by either of the following an autonomous CSG search function or a manual CSG selection function.
