Summary

Chapter 5 deals with the recyclable polymer-supported and nonpolymeric hypervalent iodine reagents. Preparation and synthetic applications of polymer-supported iodine(III) and iodine(V) reagents are discussed. Methods of preparation and the chemistry of several classes of nonpolymeric recyclable reagents are summarized including the following: recyclable hypervalent iodine reagents with insoluble reduced form, ionic liquid-supported recyclable hypervalent iodine reagents, magnetic nanoparticle-supported recyclable hypervalent iodine reagents, fluorous recyclable hypervalent iodine reagents, and recyclable iodine catalytic systems.
