Summary

This chapter describes the specific steps that help structure the analysis and interpretation of the arterial blood flow waveforms. A variety of waveforms influenced by systemic conditions are shown for patent precerebral and intracranial vasculature. Waveforms indicating an abnormal vessel patency are discussed in terms of lesion location, resistance, and in relationship to the Spencer's curve model including the Thrombolysis in Brain Ischemia (TIBI) residual flow grading system.
