Although there no proven methods for preventing Alzheimer's disease or other dementias, individuals at risk continue to ask clinicians for advice. Although an NIH conference in 2010 has concluded that there is no direct evidence to indicate that any risk factor modification reduces the incidence of dementia, it is possible to steer the children of AD patients and other individuals at risk to safe, responsible health recommendations at the Alzheimer's Association and the American Stroke Association.
