Summary

Patients with neurological disease often experience sleep disturbance. Both neurological disorders and treatment for neurological disorders have the potential to cause sleep disruption. Primary sleep disorders have the potential to increase the risk of neurological problems, as well as increase morbidity and mortality. Sleep problems are often under-diagnosed in neurological patients. Identification and treatment of sleep problems is an important aspect of treating patients with neurological problems.
