The environment consists of many different species of natural resources that are continuously being replenished, and we must develop strategies to be sure we don't deplete these natural resources faster than they are replenished. While there is a need to develop a specific strategy for each of these resources, here in this chapter, authors address one specific resource—that of the many fisheries in the seas of this planet Earth. The population explosion coupled with the demand for high-protein, low-fat food is contributing to the depletion of fish. The Limited Access Privilege Programs (LAPPs) can provide fishermen with a management tool that maximizes the efficient use of their assets and at the same time providing for sustainable fisheries. The FishBanks Ltd. game is about sustainable resource management. It uses as its basis marine fisheries to represent renewable resources, and lessons can be extrapolated to others such as forestry and soil.
