The analyses of specialized corpora (i.e., large collections of machine-readable texts) help describe language in detail, providing data that can be easily transferred to pedagogical contexts. Thus, corpus-based language analyses have become an invaluable tool in the teaching of, and materials design for, language for specific purposes (LSP), as language learners need to master the specific discourses used in their new language communities to become successful members of those communities.
