Abstract

Teachers' professional development has been defined as “a process of continual intellectual, experiential, and attitudinal growth of teachers” (Lange, 1990, p. 250). The term refers to teachers' need for “continued growth both before and throughout a career” (p. 250). No matter how well prepared teacher candidates may be at the end of their preservice training, throughout their professional lives they will need to update existing skills and knowledge, and add new skills and knowledge to their repertoires.
