Interpreting is a complex language transfer skill that enables speakers of different languages and cultural backgrounds to communicate orally during what are generally defined as interpreter-mediated events (Alexieva, 1997). Within the framework of interpreting studies a distinction is made between conference interpreting and liaison interpreting.
