In this article, the focus is on local and transnational innovations. With the increasing globalization of firms, markets, and the factors influencing development and consumption of goods and services, the words “local” and “transnational” can be considered to be ideas on a continuum rather than as discrete categories. Therefore, discussion of one cannot be exclusive of the other. As a result, local and transnational innovation are discussed in tandem.
