Abstract

The presence of species in an environment largely depends on local climate. Global warming and reduced precipitation entail more and faster changes in regional climate, which species will not always have time to adjust to because of the loss of biodiversity. Some of them will tend to move, to find a favorable climate for their survival. This essay is based on an analysis of existing literature which provides insight into links between climate change, biodiversity, and the migration of human, animal, and plant populations, over time and space.
