Abstract

Across the globe, from the dawn of civilization, migration has defined humanity, definitively and enduringly. Indeed, all human beings have recent or distant forebears who trekked, wandered, or journeyed to novel locations. Additionally, migration as a defining feature of human cultures has remained as compelling in recent times as it was at the beginning of civilization. This point informs and sustains a critical analysis of culture and migration.
