Abstract

This essay focuses on recent – 20th-century – migration to Denmark. However, migration to Denmark is not a new phenomenon, and therefore the essay briefly describes older historical migration as well as emigration. Migration is intertwined with the regulations of migration movements as well as with debates about migrants, border regulations, and citizenship rights, and so the article also touches upon regulations of migration and debates about migration.
