Abstract

For more than three centuries, from the end of the 8th to the end of the 11th century, the migrations of Vikings and Normans had a massive impact on the political landscape of the then known world. Vikings and Normans populated centers of trade, and settled and built states in a vast geographical area that ranged from Greenland to Russia and southern Italy.
