Abstract

Even though scholars have been writing about the ethics of leaders for thousands of years, leadership ethics is a relatively new area of applied ethics. It has a unique role to play in the context of literature on leadership and professional ethics because questions about leaders occur in all professions. Leadership ethics draws on the resources of moral philosophy and leadership studies to frame, organize, and understand the ethical problems that are distinctive to leaders and leadership.
