Summary

The synthesis of the ethylsilanes CH3CH2SiH2l (1) and CH3CH2SiHI2 (2) as well as of the disilanes CH3SiH2SiH2I (3) and CH3SiH2SiHI2 (4), which differ from the former by substitution of a carbon by a silicon atom are described. From temperature-dependent Raman spectroscopic measurements and supported by ab initio calculations, conformational energies and compositions have been determined for the liquid state. The preferred conformations are gauche for 1 and anti for 2, 3 and 4, with δH-values of 1.01, 1.17, 1.52 and 1.70 kJ/mol, respectively.
