Summary

Isocyanatopropyltrimethoxysilane is a very useful starting material for the preparation of new compounds. All carbamate- and urea-functional silanes were synthesized by a very simple, convenient and efficient method. These products form a new class of silane coupling agents (for special applications) and are also starting materials for modification of polymers (especially unsaturated compounds) or for other organic syntheses.
