Each ARHP member brings unique talents, abilities, and expertise to our organization and we need your participation. Volunteer opportunities are available to all ARHP members, including international and associate members. Volunteering with the ARHP can broaden your horizons and help you develop new skills that could be beneficial to your career. The Graduate Student Recognition Award was created to encourage the interest of non-physician graduate students who have not yet achieved a terminal degree in the field of rheumatology. This award recognizes creative research or clinical project efforts that merge theory and clinical practice in assessing and/or improving the lives of patients with rheumatic diseases. ARHP or ACR members can facilitate graduate students in health-related areas (including, but not limited to, behavioral medicine, bio-engineering, epidemiology, health services, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, psychology, physical therapy, and social work) by mentoring them in the submission of an application for this award. Application deadline is June 1, 2011. To apply, please visit www.rheumatology.org or contact the ARHP staff at arhp@rheumatology.org.
