This is your opportunity to submit an educational session concept, suggest a speaker, or plan an entire symposium! Share your ideas with your colleagues by submitting a proposal for the ACR/ARHP 2013 Annual Meeting in San Diego. The annual meeting planning committees for both the ACR and ARHP realize that the best ideas always come from members, and make a special effort each year to incorporate as many member suggestions as possible into the final program. Fundamentals of Rheumatology Course: Registration Now Open

The ACR/ARHP announce the latest addition to the online education series. Fundamentals of Rheumatology will provide a flexible online source for nurses, medical assistants, licensed practical nurses, and office managers to adapt and develop their skills to support the multi-faceted care and management of rheumatology patients. The course offers five modules that can be purchased individually or in groups with topics that target specific needs such as Overview of Rheumatic Disease, Assessment and Management of the Adult with Rheumatic Disease, Assessment and Management of the Child with Rheumatic Disease, Nursing Management of the Infusion Patient, and Insurance Preauthorization. This activity was approved by the Georgia Nurses Association, an accredited approver of nursing continuing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation. Contact hours will be awarded from October 2, 2012 to October 2, 2014.

Advanced Rheumatology Course

The Advanced Rheumatology Course is a comprehensive rheumatology training program for physicians, fellows-in-training, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other clinicians looking to build an in-depth clinical knowledge of rheumatology. The online course contains 19 modules organized into 3 tracks (adult, pediatric, and combined).

Various purchase options are now available. Prices for individual modules range from $100 to $150 and complete tracks are available for $700 to $1,100. Group discounts are available for 3 or more participants from the same university, institution, facility, or office registering at the same time. Consider including Module 5 - Documentation, Coding, and Practice Issues in a group training session and learn about the benefits of including a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to a practice and strategies to facilitate successful practice relationships. ACR Journals Now Accessible to Members Directly From the ACR Web Site

American College of Rheumatology members can now electronically access the full content of Arthritis & Rheumatism and Arthritis Care & Research directly from the ACR web site using their member login, without the need for any further login upon reaching the journals' sites. To access the full text of the journals, members should follow these easy steps: 1) Go to 2) Click “LOGIN” in the upper right corner of the home page. Use your member ID as the User Name and your last name as the Password. 3) Click on the “Publications” tab. 4) Click on “Arthritis & Rheumatism” or “Arthritis Care & Research” in the left menu. 5) Click on the red link “Click here for journal access.”

Members who prefer to continue accessing the ACR journals via their Wiley login can do so. In addition, direct access for members through the e-mailed tables of contents will be available later this year; in the meantime, members can access full-text articles from the links in the electronic tables of contents by using their Wiley login.
