ZA22 foams were fabricated by the melt foaming process. The compressive behavior and energy absorption characteristic of ZA22 foams were studied before and after heat treatment. The microstructures of cell wall was observed using SEM. After heat treatment, the microstructure of cell wall in ZA22 foams was altered, the compressive strength and energy absorption capacity of ZA22 foams increased, and the energy absorption efficiency of ZA22 foams was not improved.
