Compression deformation tests are conducted on ultrafine-grained (UFG) commercially pure (CP) Ti. The deformation behavior is investigated by the true stress–true strain curves and deformed microstructures. The flow stress of UFG CP Ti exhibits a steady flow state, which significantly depends on the strain rate and deformation temperature. The continuous dynamic recrystallization can be considered as the predominant softening mechanism of UFG CP Ti during the compression deformation.
