Neutral, dinuclear, highly luminescent rhenium(I) complexes are prepared and their photophysical and electrochemical properties investigated by Professor Luisa De Cola and co-workers. For the first time, electroluminescent devices, using a rhenium complex as dopant, obtained by sublimation and by solution processing are described.
