Needlelike crystalline structures of the C60-derivative PCBM ([6-6]-phenyl C61-butyric acid methyl ester; see figure and cover) can be tuned in dimension and spatial distribution by submitting films of PCBM blended with poly(3-hexylthiophene) in various blend ratios to an appropriate thermal treatment. Different analytical techniques are used to study the occurring growth mechanisms.
