Abstract

This edition of our regular series on biomaterials focused on the progress reported at two major conferences held in September, 1989, in Heidelberg, FRG. Aspects of the use of metals, cements, ceramics, glasses and coating in hard tissue replacement are discussed along with new developments in the study of cell attachment to implant surfaces.
