Abstract

The DECHEMA is a non-profit making technical and scientific society dedicated to supporting the development of chemical apparatus and machinery, and of chemical engineering, biotechnology and their scientific fundamentals. The new Managing Director of the DECHEMA, which has over 2700 members, describes how the society meets the interdisciplinary challenge of supporting the study and use of materials in the chemical industry, for example by organizing the well-known ACHEMA trade fair.
