Abstract

Spherical polymer structures are uniformly transformed into disk-shaped structures by a blown film process. The aspect ratio of the disks can be conveniently controlled by the extent of blown film expansion. More complex structures such as flying saucers can be fabricated using this process by starting with core/shell composite spheres whose components have different mechanical properties.
