Nanoporous Semiconductors Synthesized Through Polymer Templating of Ligand-Stripped CdSe Nanocrystals

Abstract

The assembly of ligand-stripped CdSe nanocrystals into hierarchical mesoporous architectures via polymer templating is reported. The nanocrystal-based porous CdSe combines micropores, created at the juncture between nanocrystals, and mesopores, created by the polymer template, to yield a high surface-area material with accessible pores, while preserving the optical and electronic properties of quantum confined CdSe nanocrystals.
