2D inorganic nanosheets can be used as a dielectric analogue of graphene. A layer-by-layer engineering approach to inorganic nanosheets promises unique possibilities in the design of thin-film device architectures, such as capacitors, gate dielectrics, transistors, and artificial ferroelectrics.
