A graphene nanosheet/carbon nanotube hybrid electrode is developed to construct a biomimetic electrochemical actuator, which exhibits attractive actuation response and durability, as reported by W. Chen and co-workers on page 4317. The full carbon porous electrode is prepared through a surfactant-free solution method by utilizing π–π interactions only, effectively preventing graphene from restacking while obtaining high electrical conductivity and 3D structure stability, showing great promise in electronic devices for energy harvesting, storage, and conversion.
