A noble metal-free catalyst, Raney Ni, exhibited > 99% selectivity toward H2 for hydrous hydrazine decomposition in basic solution at 30°C. The particle size of the initial Ni-Al alloy and the concentration of additional alkali influenced the H2 selectivity on Raney Ni catalysts.
