Abstract

In dipole approximation, a mathematical relation between the n-th order contributions to the unitary time development operator (in the interaction representation) corresponding to HW and ĤW, respectively, is established. From this, the transition probabilities calculated for n-th order processes using HW in one case and ĤW in the other, are easily deduced to be equal for arbitrary n, provided the physical processes considered are always described in terms of the lowest order with respect to the coupling constant.
